Essay (01/29/15)

Did you know that 1 kid every 25 seconds gets injured by sports, that means that 3.5 million children under the age of 14 get hopilized every year from sports injures.Children should not be able to play contact sports sutch as fotball, soccar, basketball, and tienis.Sports like these can cause short and long term damage. Some adults today are still affected my sports injures every day every hour every mintute and every second by damge that has been cause my contact sports.Damge can be as simple as scraping your knee.Mild such as getting a conution.Or as survire as brain damage or paralization.

Lots of sports cause head injeures to kids this is because kids under 14 are more likely for injures because childerens necks are weaker and more likey to snap back during a fall. And sports such as football are offten involved in helmet to helmet combat this is why 39 foot ball players have died science 2000.And if 39 teenage foot ball playes have died science 2000 and kids are pron to injures you can only imagine how many children football players have died or suffed permenent damage science 2000.

Playing the same sport to offten can causse wear and tear on a kids body. This can affect somebody later in life such as knee pian or back pain.Scince sports ussaly requre the ussage of one boby musle or one limb such a kicking for soccar or throwing and swinging for baseball.Every day 3 thousand children get injures and 1.2 million children go to the emergincy room becue of injures every year

On the other hand playing sports does help keep teen stress levels to a minimum.Sports are good fo putting your energy into insted of otherthings that may not be healthy or good. But in 10 years 350 million kids willbe injured by sports. And about half of them have perment injures.

Over all teens should not play contact sports beacsue it causes wear and tear on a kids body it also causes perment and tempory damage and wh kake the chance of having your scild get injured nobody thinks its that it wll be therechild untill it is.

essay on " China's cram schools"

China's way of registering and proving your "smart" enough to go to the school they want is unfair and cruel to not only the students but to the parents and the teachers. They pressure kids into doing good witch usually works but when you pressure them so much they start to become very stressed and extremely worried they are not going to do well. This usually leads to test anxiety witch can cause not just student to not do well.
This test can effect the teachers because the test scores count on the teacher so if most her/his class has really bad test anxiety and they don't do well the school system will blame them one of the sidelines read "students desperate to pass china do or die college entrance exam flock to schools that eliminate all distractions with military precision" this shows how the teachers should be able to teach with no exceptions.the schools make sure that the students learn all they need to with VERY strict rules and boundaries and they think that the teachers should to not keeping in mind the kids who really study and work hard.
This test effects  the students because of the great stress and pressure  the teachers the school the school system and there parents put on the students.this can cause stress lots of test anxiety. Failing the gaokao likely means ending up in a factory or construction job" even though these jobs would be a good and a well paying job but to the students this is something that is not wanted by them there teacher an most of all there parents.
This can also be a good thing this is because  it teaches the kids to have good studing skills and they can also learn rule and position when it comes to jobs and even there new collage if they passed there test.
Over all this test is hard and stressful for the students and the people around them such as parents and teachers this test is unfair and is cruel to the students and should not be tacking this test is unacceptable.

Hunger Games (03/20/15)

Hunger Games is a book about a society, with a government that countrols every move of the people. The government  spreads fear  by a holding a series of horrific games called The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a series of games held every year and two kids from every district are  chosen and are put  in arena where they fight to the death,  last one standing is the winner. They are chosen by random and are always children. The entire community comes out to see the games.

The Hunger Games is much like The Giver because the government controls both societies and  both take place in futuristic after war settings. Both have many laws and lots of people to enforce all of those laws, such as the peace keepers in The Hunger Games and thought police in 1984. Another example is when Catness tries to rebel she rebels and gets the goverments attention and is seen as a threat. In 1984 Winston is seen as a threat he is then threatened with rats and beaten untill he starts to think like everyone else.

Hunger Games is also very different from 1984  because 1984s goverment controls their society by  brainwashing but Hunger Games controls there government by using fear. They are  both very diffrent because at the end Winston stops trying to rebel but at the end of Hunger Games Catness still rebels. The two are also very diffrent because 1984s government had stricter rules and people where more afraid to break those rules.

Over all both books have many diffrences and many simerlaritys but they both have two  main characters one rebeling against there highly powered goverment and one blindly following even though they both have very diffrent endings.

Essay 3/10/2014

Poems about parents can be deep or playful. Of course this all depends on the poets point of view and their experience as a child, but no matter what emotion the poem gives, it usually means something to the poet. Something as deep as child abuse or as playfull as simply dancing with your father . "Those winter Sundays", by Robert Hayden and "My Papas Waltz", by Theodore Roelhke are both great examples of the many differences and this is what I'm here to discuss.

"Those Winter Sundays", by Robert Hayden is about a poem appreciating what people do for you instaed of taking it for granted. This poem is about a father who wakes up earlt in the morning to make a fire for his family. As it states in the first stanza, My father got up early and puts his clothes in the blue black cold". This show's his father wakes up before dawn. This demonstartes how much the father sacrifices for his family. At the end of the stanza it says the following, "No one ever thanked him". This supports the theme idea. In conclusion, this poem is more deep than playful.

"My Papas Waltz", by Theodore Roethke is about loving your kids in ways that they will understand at a young age. This poem is about a man and his very young son dancing and having fun together. As it stated "Then waltzed me off to bedstill clinging to your shirt". This supports my theme idea, because his son hung on to his father's shirt and it shows how much he loved his father. His son loved him so deeply he didn't want to let him go.

In conclusion these two poems are different because they both talk about a father's love but in the first poem 'Those Winter Sundays", by Robert Hayden shows that when fathersshow their love in nonabvious ways they get no recognition. In the second poem "My Papas Waltz", by Theodore Roethke is about all of the love he is getting from his son because his father has shown him signs of obvious affection.Over all both poems have very diffrent ideas but they both talk about the value of a fathers love.

1984 is about a middle aged man named Winston who goes through several trails/events through his life. These trails/events fallow a non-complex story path called the heroes journey. But not all of these sad, romantic, and terrifying events fallow this journey and that’s what I’m here to discuss.

In the begging Winston was just another member of the simple yet so strict community. Just like the heroes journey stated. He did what the party told him to do. he ate drank, slept and worked as though he and all the other members in the community were zombies forever owned by the party and of course big brother. According to the heroes journey the begging states that the hero is part of the community brainwashed since birth and embedded into the society until the middle...

In the middle of the book Winston starts to realize that he doesn’t want to be a member of the society and thus rebelled. This is a common event in hero stories such as harry potter when instead of continuing to be a muggle he decides to become a real wizard (not including the abuse his “parents” and their son put on him).Winston started to realize the real truth about the life he was living and the people controlling it.

In the end of the book the story starts to take a turn from the heroes’ journey path. When Winston goes into the torture room instead of bravery he provides fear, and ends up doing irrational things because of fear. Such as giving away his true love to the party. This is unlike the story line of the heroes’ journey because it states that the hero either dies while making a huge sacrifice for their true love etc. but in this case he ends up cowering and giving her up because he finally faces his worst fear...rats.

In conclusion the heroes’ journey is a path that not all stories fallow ,but it is an important path because it shows us how different stories can be and it helps us compare and contrast hero stories witch helps us to think ,make observations, and even write.
